BEAUTY TIP No.4 : How to Use Oils
Facial oils have their place in the spotlight and are not going anywhere anytime soon for a good reason. For thousands of years, oils have been used in beauty and skincare rituals across the world. Olive oil, for example, was used in ancient Greece by the women to preserve their youthful, radiant glow. Adding in a facial oil to your routine might make your skin so happy you find that you need less products, less make-up, and have much less worry about how your skin looks. Not only are facial oils these days as luxurious as it comes but they also deliver a powerhouse of vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants into the skin and body. While we praise facial oils to the moon and back (have you tried our Lapis Oil? It’s almost as Aphrodite - the Goddess of beauty - made it herself!), sometimes it takes a few tricks of the trade to know how to really get the oil absorb fully instead of just sitting on top of the skin.
- BLEND - A well known secret in the beauty industry is to blend oil + floral water together. This helps match the skin’s own oil + water balance and helps the oils to blend in much easier. Take 2-3 drops of oil in your hand combined with 5 sprays of our Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner or Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Facial Mist and massage onto skin.
- MASSAGE -- Don’t be lazy when it comes to your skin! Give yourself a luxurious facial massage while applying oils. Massaging the oils into the skin not only helps them penetrate deeper but it brings blood and oxygen to the surface, which help to heal the skin from the inside out.
- NIGHT - Our skin works really hard at night to repair damage and regenerate skin cells. Using a facial oil at night with repairing ingredients such as our Phoenix Oil will give your skin the boost it needs to look radiant come sunrise.
