DIY Avocado + Blue Clay Summer Face Mask
Our skin is the largest organ of our body, which means that anything we put on our skin gets absorbed right into our very being. That's why natural has always been our number one priority when it comes to making products for face and body.
Now that summer is finally here, it's officially fruit season! Fruit masks are a fun and easy way to feed your skin with vitamins, minerals, and nutrients it needs to stay clear, glowing, and healthy. They help boost your skins natural radiant complexion, can help fade scars and marks left behind from blemishes, and help heal dry skin. So pick a cool summer's eve, get playful in the kitchen, maybe even invite a few friends over and turn on our favorite, Midnight in Paris, and watch your skin glow.
Here's an easy face mask to whip up that not only helps to detoxify your skin but also replenishes hydration and helps to keep blemishes at bay.
1. Prior to masking, make sure to cleanse your skin. For acne-prone/oil skin, try our Bamboo Charcoal soap. Dry/Sensitive skin will love our Pink Clay Soap. And for those with normal/combination skin, our Blue Clay Soap is just for you.
2. After cleansing, pat skin dry. Then, in a bowl mix the following:
1/2 AVOCADO (rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins A, B, K, and E, deeply hydrates skin)
3 - 5 sprays ROSE HIBISCUS HYDRATING MIST (antibacterial, helps lock in moisture, deeply hydrates the skin)
1 tsp MAPLE SYRUP (reduces inflammation, deeply hydrates skin, helps heal blemishes)
1tsp LEMON (helps kill bacteria, fade scars, reduce blemishes, brighten complexion)
1tsp BLUE CLAY (pulls impurities from deep within the pores, helps heal blemishes, reduces appearance of redness and inflammation)
4. Apply a rich layer to your face. Sit back, relax, and let your skin enjoy some TLC.
5. After 5-10 minutes, rinse off, and voila! Meet your fresh, glowing complexion.
Don't forget to hydrate and moisturize after masking. Follow up with a facial mist, oil, and moisturizer to lock in all the moisture and benefits from an evening of masking. Our Hydrate + Glow Mini Collection has everything you need, from Rose Hibiscus Facial Mist to an oil + moisturizer to hydrate your skin after an evening of skin-loving rituals!
Tips for Use: Only use this mask at night as you do not want to expose skin to sunlight directly following use. Use SPF during the day after using this mask to maintain results and avoid sun damage. Slight to moderate tingling may occur due to the astringent properties of lemon. Always test a small patch on your hand prior to using! Best for oily/congested skin types but safe enough for everyone to use.
